MUSHROOM
Due to record setting heat in July and August mushroom yields are falling short in the southeastern Pennsylvania region, where 64% of the nation’s mushrooms are produces. Even though mushrooms are grown indoors in a climate controlled atmosphere the foundation for production starts in the production medium (compost).
This process is outside and extreme heat can make realizing max yields very difficult. We are now using compost that was generated this summer and we are getting very low yields in product. This is causing a shortage in product and high prices. We will keep you updated as soon as we get more information.
Thank you for your patience.
